TfL should tackle fare evasion without spoiling honest passengers' journeys

As Transport for London admitted that the rate of fare evasion on "Boris buses" is twice as much as on the rest of the bus network, Caroline Pidgeon has called for TfL to look for alternatives that don't prevent passengers from boarding at the centre and back doors.

Caroline said:

“Fare evasion must be tackled, but instead of the vast majority of honest passengers being penalised with slower and more inconvenient journeys I would like to have seen TfL consider stronger penalties for fare evasion and greater use of revenue protection officers.”
