The rise in Stop and Search complaints needs to be carefully monitored

At October's London Assembly plenary session, Caroline questioned the Mayor and the Met Police Commissioner regarding the increase in stop and search complaints. Their response was disappointing.

Caroline said:

I do not think it is acceptable to use the rise in the use of stop and search as an excuse for a rise in complaints. We should be endeavouring to ensure complaints are going down, and I was not convinced that enough is being done on this. I will continue to monitor this carefully. It is vital that the police and our communities have trust, and any rise in complaints further jeopardises this.
