Brian Paddick launches campaign for Mayor in Brixton

Speaking at the launch of his Mayoral Campaign in Brixton Town Hall, Liberal Democrat Mayoral Candidate Brian Paddick pledged to put cutting crime in London at the heart of his bid to win the mayoral race. Brian Paddick was accompanied by Liberal Democrat Leader Nick Clegg MP as well as local parliamentary candidate Caroline Pidgeon as he outlined his key priorities for London: cutting crime by 20% during his first term, chairing the Metropolitan Police Authority to hold the Metropolitan Police Service to account for its performance in reducing crime, increasing reliability of Tubes and Buses, changing Oystercard to enable unlimited travel within 1 hour and using money spent on temporary accommodation to build new permanent ‘social housing’.

“Brian has a track record of tackling crime in London, including in Lambeth, and will make this his priority across London. As we walked around Brixton market it became clear how unpopular the outgoing Mayor has become and how London needs a serious Mayor to tackle crime, affordable housing and our transport system. Brian Paddick’s vision and experience makes him the only credible candidate to become Mayor of London on 1st May” said Caroline Pidgeon.
