On the BBC Politics London programme, Caroline Pidgeon discussed the over-reliance on charities to fill in the gaps in services left by the underfunding of local councils.
Caroline said:
"The Conservatives have hollowed out Local Government over recent years, leaving charities to pick up where the state is failing.
In the London Assembly, Caroline seconded the Liberal Democrats' motion calling for the Government to drop the two-child benefit cap, and for the Mayor and the Assembly Chair to write to the Government urging for its removal.
At Mayor's Question Time, Caroline asked the Mayor about the impact on TfL of the ‘pause’ of the Euston leg of HS2.

In a London Assembly session with the Mayor and the Met Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley, Caroline Pidgeon criticised the Met for its ongoing failure to address concerns around child protection and safeguarding.
The London Assembly has passed a motion put forward by London Liberal Democrats calling for the protection of Richmond Park from Heathrow Airport's plans for increased flightpaths.
Speaking to ITV London, Caroline Pidgeon expressed deep concern at rising incidents of hate crime in London and stressed the need for it to be investigated and acted on.
Caroline said:
Antisemitism, Islamophobia and hate crimes of any kind are completely unacceptable.
On ITV London's Late Debate show, Caroline sharply criticised the Conservative government's decision to scrap most of the HS2 project.
Caroline said:
In her last Liberal Democrat conference speech before she steps down from the London Assembly, Caroline Pidgeon called for the establishment of a regional Parliament for London, along the lines of the Welsh and Scottish Parliaments.
In the London Assembly, Caroline pushed the Mayor to do more to help the taxi trade to set up Electric Vehicle taxi hubs at stations and rest/refreshment ranks – an issue that Caroline had previously raised a year ago, supporting London Cab Drivers Club. The Mayor agreed to help break through the bureaucracy standing in the way of this.
Caroline Pidgeon has raised concerns in the London Assembly over a lack of level access at Old Oak Common Station.
